The audit measures the Power BI or Microsoft Fabric you already run: what it costs you, which items are slow and why. We show where you can save, or even downsize your capacity straight away.
The audit shows what Power BI and Microsoft Fabric cost you, what slows down your reports and data pipelines, and where you can save. You choose based on what you're dealing with: costs and order in the environment, or speed. Every finding in the report has a number, a cause, a possible fix and an effort estimate.
Environment
Costs
Licenses and capacity, what consumes it, access and refreshes.
Speed
Performance
Reports, models and data loading, measured before and after the fix.
Governance
Under control
What gets created in the environment, who owns it and what it costs.
Savings
Where you save
What can be switched off, scaled down or fixed, capacity included.
How does a Power BI audit work, and how long does it take?
You have the first results within a week of kickoff. The audit only reads and measures, it changes nothing in your environment.
1
Access and data collection
We read Capacity Metrics, the admin APIs and the Power BI and Fabric logs. We change nothing in the environment.
2
Measurement
Capacity by item, models, queries, refreshes and data pipelines in Fabric. We measure each one separately.
3
Key step
Findings and priorities
We rank the findings by the biggest opportunity. Which of them you act on, and in what order, is up to you.
4
Report and presentation
In a 90-minute presentation we go through the report with everyone it concerns, including the recommended capacity size.

Why this way
How we think about an audit
An audit without numbers is just an opinion. That's why every finding carries the measurement it came from, and the same method can measure the state after the fix. We don't take the method from the documentation: it's the same toolset Vojtěch uses to measure Fabric on his blog.
Method
Capacity Metrics, the admin APIs, Log Analytics and our own CU measurements. The same tools in every audit, so the numbers can be compared.
Architecture and oversight
Vojtěch Šíma
Microsoft MVP for data and Power BI. Through research and tests he designs the method the audit measures with, and leads the team that applies it at your company. He leads the technical discussion with your company about what to measure and how.
You have the first results within a week of kickoff. The scope of each audit is on the Products page.
What does the audit cost?
The Environment and Cost Audit costs €2,100 excl. VAT, the Performance Audit €2,950 excl. VAT.
What do you need from us?
Access to the environment for the duration of the audit, one person who knows it, an hour for the intro call and 90 minutes for the final presentation.
Do you change anything in the environment during the audit?
We change nothing. The audit only reads and measures. Changes come only after the report, and only the ones you approve.
Is it a certification or a financial audit?
No. We measure your Power BI and Fabric environment and its costs. We don't issue a stamp or a financial audit.
What if we want to make the changes ourselves?
The report is yours. For each finding it describes the cause and a possible path to a fix, but changes in the environment also need your internal decision. You make them yourselves, with us or with anyone else, and we can prepare your team for it with training on your data.
Do you also offer consulting without an audit?
Yes, as open advisory, priced after the first call. But when we don't know what's running in the environment, we start with an audit: without measurement, every piece of advice would be a guess.
The intro call comes with no strings attached. Just call, or write a few lines about what you're dealing with. We'll get back to you within two working days.
