Who the course is for
- People who already work with Power BI and want to pass exam PL-300.
- Before the course we recommend a short knowledge test. It's optional, and we use it to adjust the program so nobody sits through material they already know.
Who it's not for
When another course suits you better
- You're just starting out with Power BI. Start with Power BI Fundamentals.
- You don't need the certificate and mainly want faster models. Data Modeling is for you.

- Go through all four areas of the exam and know what Microsoft tests in each.
- Work through questions and case studies in the style Microsoft uses in the exam.
- Find the weak spots in your preparation and fill them before you book the exam.
- Find your way around the exam environment and the scoring.

What the course covers
- Prepare the data
- Connecting to sources, choosing between Import, DirectQuery and Direct Lake, cleaning and transforming in Power Query. 25 to 30% of the exam.
- Data model
- Relationships, cardinality, the calendar table, role-playing dimensions and DAX measures, including CALCULATE, time intelligence and calculation groups. 25 to 30% of the exam.
- Visualize and analyze the data
- Choosing visuals, bookmarks, drillthrough, Copilot in the report, accessibility, and finding trends and outliers. 25 to 30% of the exam.
- Manage and secure Power BI
- Workspaces, apps, subscriptions, gateways, scheduled refresh, row-level security and sensitivity labels. 15 to 20% of the exam.
- Exam-style questions
- Case studies and the question types Microsoft uses, with a breakdown of why the right answer is right.

The price is for the whole group, however many people attend. Demos and exercises run on your data if we agree on it before the training, otherwise on sample data. The price is the same either way.
After the course
What happens after the course
- The same test again. Anyone who took it before the course sees their progress in numbers.
- A call 30 days later. What made it into daily work and where people got stuck.
- A look at your model. On the call we can look at the model people work on after the course.
When the model misbehaves
Performance Audit
We measure slow reports and long refreshes and fix the most expensive spots. We back up the before and after with numbers.
FAQ
What you ask us most
- Can you train us on our own data?
- Yes, if we agree on the data before the training. The price is the same with or without your data. From experience we go for your data, because people know it and work with it more easily.
- Can the course run online?
- Yes, in person or online. The program is the same, the exercises are just split into shorter blocks.
- How many people can attend?
- We recommend 12 at most, so there's time to go through the exercises with everyone. The price is per group and doesn't depend on headcount.
- Do we get a certificate?
- Microsoft issues the certificate once you pass exam PL-300. The course gets you ready for the exam, and you book the exam date through Microsoft Learn.
